A Very Campbell Christmas

Since Andrew and I started dating we had to figure out how we were going to do holidays because both of our families live in the same area. We consider this a huge blessing but soon learned that splitting holiday time can be hard because you want to be in two places at once! What works for us is spending the majority of Thanksgiving with the Labberton's and the majority of Christmas with the Campbell's, although we usually end up seeing some of both sides. I meant to post holiday pictures sooner but now looking back at these is fun!

I worked the night of Christmas Eve and was lucky enough to get off a few hours early Christmas morning. I came home and slept for a few hours before we headed over to Andrew's parents house.
We always have a casual Christmas breakfast.
Andrew quite excited with his Jack Daniels.
I'm fairly certain this is me being grossed out by one of the treats Andrew picked out for the pups.

On Christmas evening Andrew's aunt and uncle hosted dinner and a poetry reading. I think people were really hesitant to participate in the poetry reading but it actually was quite fun and very funny to see what people came up with. Snaps all around!

Summer Evening

We had the best time last night just bbq'ing in the backyard. It was great just to fire up the grills, throw the frisbee for the pup and talk about our day! Hope your Tuesday night was equally as lovely!

All wet from running through the sprinkler.
Grilled zucchini is my favorite!

Summer Evening Routine

Campbell has started this evening routine with Avery and Everett. Around 7 pm Avery gets the itch and starts circling, waiting for him to put his shoes on. Then they grab the frisbee and head up to the school. Lately, Everett has been going with them as well. When I'm not working I like to tag along. Last night, Campbell was at golf league so the evening routine was up to me. Walking up to the school with a dog and a cat following you feels a bit like a parade and a whole lot ridiculous. No matter how ridiculous there is something soul anchoring in routine. Simple, predictable, daily: routine.

Mr. E marching up to play. You can see our house in the background, thankfully the school is not far.

This picture cracks me up because she looks so dang happy.

Pictures of Mr. Everett are dang near impossible.

The two of them running together as fast as they could go.

She wanted nothing to do with taking a picture with me.

Early Spring

Around here lately...

Avery and her buddies Randy and Riley

Fabulous new sugar cookie recipe via Mel's Kitchen Cafe

Dad bought Avery Easter Bunny ears for Easter. She was NOT thrilled. But I have to admit, it was so funny to see her reaction. She loves my dad. She knows that he is the one who will always be talked into an extra treat. I think this torture was only endured because she knows that he gets her the good stuff.
Really grandpa?

I fully expect a call from PETA for this one.
A very cranky Easter Puppy.

Much love,
Caitlin and Campbell

Weekend Recap

My friend Abby let me borrow her camera lens this weekend and I had the best time playing around with it. Thanks Abby! I took pictures of anything and everything. Hence: the photo of the suma mandarin. Have you tried these things? I hate oranges but these babies... delicious!

I also tried out a new cookie recipe via Mel's Kitchen Cafe blog, you can find the recipe here!

E-man helped Campbell with his brackets. Also, is there anything sexier than a wedding ring? I think not.

Although I'm a close second, Everett wins the award for best napper in the house.

And now, the rest of the weekend brought to you via my iPhone:
Watched the Zags lose. so rough.
New nails.
Tried out the Train of Four on ourselves in ICU training. Train of Four =  shocks.
Date night with Hubs.
Had a serious convo with these two.
Embraced day 2 hair.
Got beat to bed by this little lady.
Was disgusted by day 3 hair.
Made popcorn for dinner. Yes, for dinner.
Coffee at my favorite new coffee house with two good friends.
We also had dinner at my in-laws which involved teaching them a new game, it was a ton of fun and somehow I managed to get zero photos. We also attended a great church service. Have you heard this song yet??? Check it out here: Man of Sorrows.

A Campbell Christmas {outtakes}

In an attempt to get us all in one photo on Christmas morning we propped the camera up and set it for automatic shoot and did the best we could to corral the two critters. Brilliant, right? Should be easy, right? Avery missed the concept, Everett tried to escape, and well...you can see what happened. It's fairly hilarious when your camera recognizes your dog's butt as a face to focus on and blurs you and Husband in the background. Enjoy our outtakes!

There she is folks, in all her glory: the backside of Avery.

Avery chose to finally sit, right in front so she was totally blocking Andrew and Everett.  Basically, our world tends to revolve around her. (and she knows it!!)

Yes, we're in our jammies, yes, we have bed head, but, we are together, healthy and happy. Besides Everett, I don't think he was too thrilled with the situation ;)
Happy New Year!
Love,
Caitlin and Campbell (Avery and Everett too!)
